The purpose of worship is to come into the presence of God to receive His gifts, and to respond with praise and thanksgiving. We receive the gift of life throught he good news of Jesus love and forgiveness. This love and forgiveness is delivered through the teaching and the two sacraments of Baptisma nd the Lord's Supper.
This is Florida! Formal and informal attire are both appropriate at any of our worship services. Come and be welcome!
This week’s message reminded us how quickly we judge others and even ourselves, and how different Jesus is in the way He meets us. Through Jesus’ parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector, we were invited to see that while judgment comes easily to us, Christ approaches us with steadfast love.
So often we try to measure our worth by what we do, how we appear, or how we compare to others. Jesus shows us a different way. Faith is not about polished prayers or having it all together. It is about coming honestly before God, even when our prayers feel messy, trusting in His mercy and grace.
Jesus does not come to condemn. He comes to forgive. Because He laid down His life, took our sins upon Himself, and gave us His righteousness, we are justified by His work and not our own. As forgiven and redeemed children, we are invited to bring our whole selves to Him and rest in the peace He has already secured for us.
