The purpose of worship is to come into the presence of God to receive His gifts, and to respond with praise and thanksgiving. We receive the gift of life throught he good news of Jesus love and forgiveness. This love and forgiveness is delivered through the teaching and the two sacraments of Baptisma nd the Lord's Supper.

Pastor Ken preached on Matthew 16:21–28, where Peter tries to steer Jesus away from the suffering and death that await Him. Jesus sharply corrects Peter because his mind is set on human expectations rather than the purposes of God. To follow Christ is not to ask God to conform to our plans, but to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and trust the way He leads.
Jesus willingly gave His life to save a world burdened by sin. He suffered the death we deserved so that we might receive forgiveness and everlasting life. As we await His return, we are called to walk alongside one another, turning each other back toward God’s ways and the gifts He provides through His Word, Baptism, and Holy Communion. In Christ, the Father looks upon us not with anger or judgment, but with the love that gathers us to Himself.
